Week 4, Day 2, Activity 1: Chasing great

On your blog tell us three things that you learned about Richie that you did not know beforehand. What else would you like to know about Richie?

He was the first all black to reach 100 tests in 2011 and by 2014 he was the captain in 100 tests

In 2009 he was made a honorary squadron leader of the royal New Zealand Air Force.

He was raised in North Otago and went to Otago Boys High.

Other things i would like to know about him are:

How did he feel being the captain of the all blacks when they won two world cups in a row?

Why did he want to start playing Rugby?

If he didn't play rugby what else would he have like to have done?

  1. Annyeonghaseyo Toe’umu,

I love the picture of Richie after the All Blacks won the 2011 Rugby World Cup, it was an iconic moment! I found out some new things myself after reading your post. Did you mean he was the first All Black to reach 100 tests as captain? Perhaps next time you could include a timeline of Richie’s All Black career, I think it’d be interesting to see his accomplishments.

If I could ask him a question I’d ask whether he will ever return to rugby in some way. I wonder if he’ll end up coaching the All Blacks, hopefully we’ll see what happens soon.
You’ve been on such a roll, I love reading all you posts. Keep up the fantastic work!

    Toe feiloa’i fo’i,

    Cia.
