Now it is time to think about your hometown. What is special about where you live? On your blog, describe your hometown. Be sure to include lots of describing words (adjectives) in your post.
My hometown is wellington.
The special thing that i like about wellington is....
1. There is lots of places to explore
2. It has snowed there before
3. That is where my mum and dad met
Hello Toe'umu,
ReplyDeleteIt's your friend Gargee!
Wow, its so nice to see you already participating in the Summer Learning Journey! I was really interested and surprised to find out that it has snowed in Wellington, and that your parents met there.
Maybe next time you could add a little more detail to your post and elaborate on your special facts.

Kia ora Toe'umu,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Rachel and I am working with Megan and Cia on the Summer Learning Journey programme this year. I can see that you have already had a number of comments on this post. That's really cool! I love it when we can share our learning and then support each other by commenting as well.
I hope that you are able to join us throughout the duration of the summer to post SLJ activities on your blog. We enjoyed working with you last summer and have been looking forward to this summer as well!
For the activities this year we have a number of new options - 60 in total and lots of points up for grabs. We will be exploring the country of New Zealand and talking about many of the great cities, including Wellington. It's really cool to read that your parents met in Wellington. I have a real 'soft spot' for the city and try to get down to Welly as much as I can. In fact, I was just there a few weeks ago for the week-end. My partner, Andy, and I try to go down at the end of November to participate in a Christmas festival that they have called a 'Very Welly Christmas.' It is a full week-end of free concerts and events in the parks. I love it!
I must admit that I have been to Wellington many times but never seen snow there. Hopefully, one day, I will get the chance to experience a snowy day in Wellington!
Hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday season. I'll look forward to checking your blog again soon to see if you have had time to join the SLJ this year.
Warm wishes,
Rachel
Hey Toeumu,Its Araura!
ReplyDeleteI really liked all the facts you added about your hometown.I couldn't agree more,
Maybe next time you can add more detail in your facts like how you say there is a lot of places to explore maybe you could say the place you can explore because some readers that are reading your post might not be from New Zealand.
Blog you later!
