Week 1: a place to stand, Day 3: Awsome animals, Activity 3: The WWF: World wildlife fund

Day 3: Awsome animals, Activity 3: The WWF: World wildlife fund

Once you have watched the video, go to your blog and, using full sentences, tell us:
1) The name of the animal the WWF is working to save.
2) What the WWF is doing to help the animal
3) What, if any, success they have had protecting the animal.

I choose to watch:

The name of the animal is Fresh water seals
The WWF were building snow banks for the fresh water seals because they are endangered and if they don't build the pups (baby water seals) in the snowbanks, the pups could die which is sad.

If the WWF had success on protecting the fresh water seals. That means that maybe the water seals wouldn't be endangered anymore.

  1. Kia Orana Toe'umu,

You are right, the WWF is working hard to protect Freshwater Seals. The Seals do have a specific name, do you know what it is? It'll help to go back and watch the video again carefully to find out.

You have included some information about the Seals as well as what WWF are doing to help them survive (building snowbanks). In order to gain full points for this activity please include the name of the Seals as well as some information about whether the WWF has been successful in helping the Seals survive. You need to find out whether building the snowbanks has helped more seals survive...

I am concerned about how little the numbers are for these Freshwater Seals. It reminds me of our treasured bird, the Kakapo who are also an endangered species. Do you know of any other endangered species in Aotearoa? Let me know in the comment section below.

I look forward to reading your edited post.

    Toe feiloa'i fo'i,

    Cia.
