I decided to choose Valerie Adams. She was born on the 6th of October 1984. She also started shot-put when she was 14 years old at school. In 1999 she had her first world youth championships an she completed it coming tenth place. Later on in 2005 she came 3 place by throwing 19.62 m in Helsinki. Then in 2010 she came first in shot-put by throwing 20.47 m. In the 2017 New Year's honours she was named a Dame Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit.
She has 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal for the Olympics. Also she has 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal for the Commonwealth Games.

Hey Toe’umu,
ReplyDeleteYou’ve shared some great information about your sporting hero Dame Valerie Adams, what a list of achievements! Perhaps next time you could include the specific events she has attended and participated in, I’d love to see how many sporting events she’s been a part of.
Dame Valerie Adams happens to be one of my favourite kiwi athletes along with Mahe Drysdale. I just love their dedication to their sport and the effort they put in to make sure they are giving it their best. I loved seeing them compete in the Rio 2016 Olympics because it made feel proud to see them represent our country. Did you follow the 2016 Rio Olympic Games?
